The Annual Charity Football match between the Kevin Sayer XI and the Matt Green XI, which took place on August 26th, raised £526.
The match is played to remember Kevin Sayer and Matt Green. Kevin died at the age of 17 from a heart related illness and Matt at the age of 19 from cancer. Both men were keen and talented sportsmen and played football for Loddon Utd FC. Thanks to many kind donations CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and The Royal Marsden Hospital, two charities important to the family and friends of Kevin and Matt, each receive £263.
Organisers Colin Forder and Chris Grice rely on many people to help make this annual event a success and they are grateful for the support of Philip Taylor for the use of the Kings Head after the match and for supplying a buffet, Alan Cook for donation of £100 towards the buffet, Useful Print Company for posters and programmes, Jubilee Hall for use of the changing rooms, Loddon Football Club for use of football kits and pitch plus £20 donation, Les Grice for refereeing the game and Robin Stone for marking out the pitch.
